Help ! Lady min gift for weeding reception

Got an invite to a wedding reception at a country club - last minute.

What's a suitable gift ? Woulda ice bottle of champagne be acceptable? No instructions for gifts with invite .
Partners friends - he didn't think about a gift so I do t know the couple but we can't turn up empty handed !

He has asd and he forgets about social niceties sometimes ! He made up for it and got a really nice gift tho - he just needs reminding sometimes about the social aspects in getting invited to stuff !

Please don’t get champagne flutes. There’s nothing more annoying that loads of mismatched glasses that you don’t actually need!
Champage is fine, cash probably preferred.
