Suggest a treat for 11 year old boy after SATS

A bit stuck for ideas for how to treat DS after the SATS. I know they're not a huge deal but he worked really hard and did some extra maths practice. We promised him we'd give him a treat if he tried his best.

His preferred activity is just too expensive - he wants to see the Cursed Child but it's 2 plays at £100++ per person. We're reasonably well off but don't want to overdo it. It needs to be something a bit more than 'just' skating, cinema, zoo, etc.

We've been to Legoland this year, but that's the sort of thing I'm thinking. Up to £200 in total. Could either be for all 4 of us (including 6 year old DS2) or could be just DS1 and both parents or just one parent.

We're SE England, commutable to London but the kids hardly ever go into the city so it would be exciting, but not essential.

Does anyone have any bright ideas?

If he wants Cursed Child, I’d try to make that happen - just one parent goes with, you can get slightly restricted view tickets for less than £100 for 2 shows in one day throughout the summer. So you’d be close to your £200 budget and he’d feel it was his special treat not a family one.

Yes, as above.
Why would you drop £200 on Legoland instead of what he really wants to do?

I would go for something just for him

Climbing the O2?
Driving lesson in Bluewater?

You can get cheaper tickets for Cursed Child and then maybe just him and one parent would then be in your total budget. If he is ok with waiting, Kids Week tickets for August are released on the 14th June I think.

My ds' birthday was just after Sats. I took him and three of his friends for an air rifle lesson, followed by pizza.

or Swimming/pizza
or cycling/big picnic
or GoApe and burgers
or bowling

I agree one parent and him to cursed child. It’s what he wants and it’s comparable with taking more family members elsewhere.

And if still too expensive tell him it’ll be a combination present with bday.

Yes I think we'll go to the first play with one of us, and maybe do the second play later in the year. Thanks everyone!
