Crazy number of sickness bugs recently?

Pre-covid my DD would bring home a sickness bug from nursery maybe once or twice a year. Since last September we've been getting them through the household maybe every 6-8 weeks. It might be partly because we now have DD in school and toddler DS in nursery, but it's probably 4 times as many sickness bugs as before. Feeling so sorry for my poor DD today who has been unable to even keep water down for 48 hours. The other stomach bugs weren't as bad as this, but still unpleasant.

Is this happening in other families to? I can't wait for all the post-covid bugs to settle down.

Dd had a bad one go through her 3 lately - violent stomach pains as well as throwing up. Eldest was off school for 4 days, and DD had spent hours in A&E with the middle one - the first to get it - thinking it could be appendicitis. 🙁

Hope they're feeling all better now. This bug has been particularly nasty, but it's the sheer number of different sickness bugs we seem to have had recently.

Yep! We’ve been ill almost constantly since January. 3 tummy bugs, covid, norovirus and a random dizziness virus between 4 of us. The majority of those my DD got at school and brought home. It’s exhausting. I think our immune systems are struggling to ward anything off.

Yep, over here too

Dr said it’s cos of covid lockdown kept everything down and lots of babies and children don’t have the same immune system so everything is hitting twice as hard

Feel like we are getting coughs / colds etc every few weeks at the moment!

Thank goodness this has not been the case for us… I am an emetophobe and live in fear of sickness bugs. Fingers crossed it’s not a national thing and more a localised issue or for those exposed to two different childcare settings etc.
Hoping the nicer weather helps everyone get well soon.

DD (6 months) and I had one last week. Ive never had a sickness bug before. Loads of my friends dotted around the Uk have got bugs atm too!

Been the same in my part of Ireland too 😟

I'm a teacher and loads are going round lately. I have been wiping the tables down with anti-bac wipes during break and lunch time to try and stop the spread as much as possible. Interesting we have recently stopped doing the mid day clean that was brought in during covid.
