Help - Where do I go on holiday in September?

I need some help as I'm not feeling well and I'm a bit overwhelmed, please be kind. I had a lovely holiday to Greece booked for Friday with family that have come over from abroad to celebrate a big birthday but a few weeks a go I had a bad relapse of a chronic illness I have and everything has had to be cancelled. 🙁

I need to change my flights as Easyjet are just a nightmare to get a general voucher from and I can't organise seeing my doctor in time before my flight leaves in a couple of days - I left it until now in the hope I'd get better in time.

I'm hoping I'll be a lot better by early September and I just want a relaxing beach holiday in somewhere warm, where it's not massively touristy but where there's some nice bars and restaurants etc. I went to Tenerife a few years ago to Costa Adeje and just didn't like it, it was just too touristy, too many fake Irish pubs, karaoke etc. Sorry to anyone that loves it there but it just wasn't me.

Is there anywhere that fits the bill?

Nerja in Spain. Or Frigiliana, if you don't mind being slightly inland (quick bus ride to Nerja on the coast)

Or Paros, if you still fancy Greece.

Or the coast just above Biaritz

Or Mallorca (I've only ever stayed inland there, but there are loads of places which aren't overrun by tourists)

The Italian lakes (not sea, granted, but plenty of opportunity to relax on the shores of the lakes).

Thanks so much for this @ReviewingTheSituation I'll have a look into these. One of the places you mention are where I was going!

Agadir? The beach is lovely and rather quiet but plenty of restaurants

Fuerteventura.

French Riviera? We went last October and it was wonderful - September would be lovely.

We’ve done Corfu and Majorca in Sept before and it’s always been lovely. Last year some of the Greek islands were badly hit but storms but I think that was the final week?

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. I've booked Cyprus. 😊
