Huge cost of living hike

I was a single parent but managed to buy my own house. My son and his partner bought their own house but they are going bust because of the cost of living. They live in the south east, I live in the west country.
We were forced to take the decision to buy a place together and split it up into my section and theirs.
This way all the bills are three way, we all work. It works for us and we can have the heating on again.
I wonder how many people ate going to have to live with family to make ends meet? I wasn't expecting to have my son home again in my 60s.
I love having them home of course and it works for us with strict boundaries but life now is definitely changing because of the critical financial situation.

The cost of living crisis has only really been since April, have you managed to sell two houses and buy a new one in that time? Where do you live now? I don't know if it's really "having your son back home" if you all own the house, or did you buy it and they pay you rent?

Quick work! Utilities only increased in April. There has been a steady increase in food and petrol over the months.
