Help me plan a trip to Tenby...

I'm hoping someone can help me with planning a journey to Tenby from my home in Hertfordshire.

We're a family of four. Two adults, two small children (2&4).

It looks to be about a five hour drive from us, so we plan to stop over somewhere for a night on the way out, and a night on the way back. Just to break up the journey.

I wondered if anyone has done a similar thing and could recommend good stopping off points, that might have stuff for the kids to do, or decent hotel options for a family like ours.

Any thing you can offer is greatly appreciated I'm way down a Google rabbit hole and it's all become less, rather than more clear!!

We went to Tenby when our kids were a similar age. Loved Tenby the beach was great. We also really enjoyed oakwood theme park for a day out. There was farm place that loads of people recommended too but we never got there as our little boy got a d+v bug and we opted for a very hairy early journey home instead

We stayed for three nights in Tenby just two weeks ago. It was beautiful!

We stayed in a guest house just 400m from the beach - it was £75 per night (for a double room) and the hosts were absolutely superb and spotlessly clean. I can give you the name of it if you'd like.

Tenby itself is stunning. The buildings really are all pastel colours like in pictures, however some are a bit dilapidated and desperately need painting! There are dozens of quirky little gift shops too. We had no trouble finding small souvenirs!

I was amused to find a street called Lower Frog Street (even moreso that somebody had stuck googly eyes on it!). Walk through gaps in the old walls and find no end of little shops and houses, churches and old buildings.

It's so pretty and I don't doubt you'll have a wonderful time!
