Best debit card for kids?

We're thinking of getting DD a kids debit card (she'll be 11 soon) and are wondering which ones are the best. Preferably free to top up rather than one with a top up fee as well as a monthly fee. Any recommendations?

@ditalini how have you got this set up for your 9yo please? I was looking at one for my 8yo but seemed like he needed his own unique telephone number/email and he doesn't have a phone yet.

Rooster was another one I liked the look of, you can switch between parent and child profiles on one device which suits our needs better. Cheaper than Go Henry but does similar.

For op, if your child has a phone Hyper Jar looks the best way to go.

I've set up hyperjar for my DD and just used my husband's phone number and email to set up the app on her tablet. Its just for verification so as long as each phone number/email is only used once it's fine

@MilkTart Thanks for confirming that, that's brill. I wasn't sure if it was for notifications and would be causing husband a hassle!

Just noticed Rooster Money has rebranded (just this week) it is now owned by NatWest. They are offering a year free if you are a NatWest/RBS/Ulster Bank customer - so could be of use to someone here, especially those with children under the age of 11.
