Couldn't see another thread about this story so thought I'd start one - apologies if it's a duplication.

I'm finding this story so upsetting. My son has just been discharged from intensive care at Birmingham Children's Hospital and it's impossible for me to believe that any of the (truly wonderful) nurses I met during his months at the hospital would be capable of such a thing.

I haven't been able to get over this all day, I'm just obsessing.

Why would somebody do this?

I feel so sad for the parents 😔

What other reason is there? No one in their right mind would surely commit such an atrocity.

That's very naive. You don't have to be mentally ill to kill, also most people with mental illness are not a threat. Of course it could be a factor but I never understand why people think that all killers must suffer from mental illness.

I never said that all killers are mentally ill. But you haven't given any other reason why a young nurse would poison a baby. There's a difference between someone's mother losing their temper/having violent tendancies and hurting their own baby, and someone who can poison a baby who is already unwell in hospital.
