where did the Books of Condolence go?

Watching The Queen on ITV3 just now. I definitely signed a Book of Condolence in 1997, just wondering where they all went? There must have been hundreds for them?

I went to Althrop House many years ago, where Diana is buried, the books were there on shelves.

Hopefully on a bonfire! Sentimental rubbish.
