Is Warsaw an interesting place to visit?

DC (18) may be going to Warsaw to take part in a sporting event in the Summer. If we tag along to cheer him on, will there be some touristy distractions worth visiting? Assuming Putin hasn't nuked it by then of course

I stayed in central Warsaw also for a sporting event and enjoyed it. Liked the city. There's a beautiful museum (as in the building was beautiful too) dedicated to the Jewish history of the city. I wasn't there that long and had young kids so was limited by that but I'd definitely go again if I had the opportunity. The old town - "old town" - was nice too. Basically a very pleasant city.

I thought Warsaw was better to visit than Krakow.

The Old Town is beautiful. Lovely palaces and castles to visit. Lots of history about both the Ghetto Uprising and Jewish Ghetto Uprising - they are different but both end tragically. Jewish History Museum was just being built when I was there. So many layers of history visible wherever you look.

Easy to walk around, typical Eastern European cake and cafe culture, great food. There was a lot to do.
