Vestaire collective - should I buy or not?

I’ve been on the hunt for a vintage piece of designer jewellery, and found one on vestaire. It’s a birthday present and has to be this specific piece. After hours of hunting I’ve found one but I’ve never used vestaire collective and not sure what the buyer protection is like.

it’s not hugely expensive, hundreds rather then thousands. I always use PayPal for online purchases so I guess I’d have their buyer protection but just looking for other peoples experience. Is it worth paying the extra for it to be sent to their hub for an authenticity check?

I've used it before. Both purchased and sold with no problems. The shipping can be quite slow (no idea why as the seller ships it most of the time just like Vinted / eBay).

I would advise asking @mnhq for this post to be moved to style & beauty where you will get more answers. There have been previous posts about Vestiaire there

I bought a bag from them and had it sent for verification. It was genuine but the seller hadn’t listed some obvious marks on it, I was asked if I wanted to continue with the sale, I didn’t.
my experience was very good.

Thanks for the replies, I think I’ll go for it and pay for the authenication. I like that the authentication process flagged up marks @Letsrunabath and you were given the option to continue or not.

@adhdforme ive no idea how to ask mnhq to move the thread 🙃

Another question! I’ve had a good hunt on vestaire and I’ve found the same item from another seller but cheaper. The more expensive one is from a professional seller so is returnable, the cheaper one is from an expert seller but I’m assuming that means individual rather than professional and therefore wouldn’t be refundable. BUT, if I pay for it to be authenticated if there’s any issues with it would I still be given the option of not proceeding with the sale?
