You can buy tricolour pasta from supermarkets or educational/craft suppliers.

Felt tip or paint?

Paint?

What about this? Much easier than the faff of colouring your own. Unless you want very specific colours?

Oh, maybe paint! They're for Friday at work - I work in eyfs & have seen a threading activity I like for our Jubilee celebrations, so preferably red, white and blue :)

I did this for a family craft workshop I did a few years back. Put the pasta in a plastic freezer bag with some hand sanitizer ( enough to wet it) and liquid or gel food colour ( I used gel). Seal the bag and scrunch it all together so the pasta gets covered. Empty the bag out on to kitchen roll or newspaper and let it dry over night.

Thank you all; I have some paints here that I brought home for another project, so will try paint first & see how that works out with a few pieces of pasta from my jar & if it doesn't go well I'll try some of the other suggestions.
