Im rubbish. I am going to have to get her something today or tomorrow, we have a tesco and an aldi, some other random shops. What can I get her?! Obviously too late to order anything and it's the weekend.

She likes gardening and other random things, early fifties, any ideas at all welcome! Help! :)

I'd "get" something for us to do together. Depending on the budget, dinner, afternoon tea, theatre, cinema

Pop to a local garden centre and get a nice plant gift wrapped and a pot for it to go in.

Flowers & a bottle of something she likes from supermarket.

Agree garden centre . Get her something lovely for her garden, a rose or a climber, in flower now so it will always flower on her birthday.

Agree with afternoon tea/theatre type thing or a David Austin voucher so she can choose a rose?

Garden centre gift vouchers and a bottle of Prosecco

Google garden shows for near her area, and book a couple of tickets for her

Fantastic ideas, thank you. I've never done this before, I'm mortified! We do have a fabulous garden centre near us actually but I've not been for years, might have to set my alarm as I'm working tonight (until 0700) looks like a day of shopping is in order!

Google late minute presents and there will be loads of things you can do. Florists will deliver flowers same day even on a Sunday. Amazon prime will have loads of things available. Tick the box for gift wrap

Or email a self made voucher of 'treat of your choice'. Good luck.

Garden centre gift vouchers and a bottle of Prosecco

Definitely the national garden centre vouchers - please don't buy your choice of plant for her, it probably won't be what she would choose herself. I shouldn't say it, but I really dislike it when people buy me plants, as they're never on my wishlist and most gardens are not huge enough to accommodate plants you really didn't want. And you can't get rid of them as the donor expects to see their choice growing nicely in your garden...

Prosecco also sounds good Grin

I did my sister a goodie bag from Waitrose. I got one of their gift bags and filled it with a bottle of pink wine (which was on offer) some expensive chocolates, a bunch of flowers and some nice nibbles. She really loved it

ReceiptsAreSweet · 21/05/2022 22:48

Thanks again :)

A treat bag sounds good-and she likes gin! I could buy a nice-ish bottle and some gardening bits. I can save this with a couple of hours free tomorrow afternoon :)
Date now firmly diarised!
