In quite a small flat, really.

I don't know, what do you think?

Midges everywhere in Summer. Clearly they’ll be marketing it to townies who won’t have a clue.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 20/05/2022 23:28

Posh centre parks.....

Not my thing at all. I'd be worrying about mosquitos, flooding and having to watch the kids like a hawk. What a rip off.....

Steamoutmyears · 20/05/2022 23:29

The flies.

Crikeyalmighty · 20/05/2022 23:31

I know the area well and personally (and this may just be me) but I feel at that price and size -its a poor buy- nice view I accept but not much on your doorstep either

Crikeyalmighty · 20/05/2022 23:33

The places people have mentioned are all aquite a decent drive away- not a quick pop into town or a cheap £6 cab and a night out.

Sunnytwobridges · 20/05/2022 23:39

Ohhhh I LOVE it!!! 😍I hate living around people so this would be perfect, it’s like a vacation home at home.

FrecklesMalone · 20/05/2022 23:46

I went to a rave in Lechlade in the early 90s. Not sure if it's as much fun now.

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 20/05/2022 23:47

That is gorgeous!! Pity I'm about 90,000 grand short. The only thing I would do is have a mozzie net put up

Davros · 20/05/2022 23:47

It took me a while to spot the kitchen.

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 20/05/2022 23:49

Oh and make that 900,000 grand short. I don't have £910,000 sitting in the bank would be lovely if I did though!!

UmbrageWells · 20/05/2022 23:53

Son of a gun, we'll have big fun on the.... by you...

Blinkingbatshit · 20/05/2022 23:54

Urgh - know this area well! Not even great as a day trip, def wouldn’t bother spending £1.5mill😂….. go a little further west and a bit up - much nicer & better value…or, to be fair, anywhere else!!👍🤣

UmbrageWells · 20/05/2022 23:54

Oh autocorrect...

On the by yoo

Not to be confused with the development in Roath, Cardiff called The Lakes By Yer.

Very good, very good indeed Grin

Keladrythesaviour · 20/05/2022 23:57

Lechlade isn't the arse end of nowhere, it's one of the most popular towns of the area 😂very pretty but far too busy and touristy for me! We live in a much smaller village about 20 minutes away..

wanderingscot · 21/05/2022 07:03

It's definitely trying to sell the lifestyle. One for the second home owners. It's nicely done- but overpriced and the location doesn't sound that great

Knittingchamp · 21/05/2022 07:46

DontDoThatGeorge · 20/05/2022 22:15

It's not close to anywhere nice. And it's this weird isolated Truman Show type place.

It has the feel of one of those Netflix shows where a group of affluent young professionals meet there for a weekend and initially think it's great, loving the beers by the lake and sup boarding, then the sun goes down and it all starts going horribly wrong...

On another note, why would rich people want to holiday in Swindon?

I'd like to live by the water though but then again I wouldn't even be allowed to live there as it's a holiday place ..

Pashazade · 21/05/2022 07:51

For that kind of money, you can get something far nicer round there, it isn't the arse end there are some nice villages and heading north you've got Ciren and East there's Oxford, but no not one I'd choose.

Ballcactus · 21/05/2022 08:57

Rats, mosquitoes and flooding I’m out

sashh · 21/05/2022 09:02

I can't work out if that is the cost of one or all three, it isn't really clear.

Would be fine for a short break but I would need an actual kitchen for longer.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 21/05/2022 09:13

As a pp has said, they’re holiday homes, you can’t live there permanently. (Although I used to know someone who did - not sure how she managed it.)

A friend lives close to this development. One of the lakes (I think they’re flooded gravel, pits) was very close to her house, so before the development, in summer they used to swim in it - no longer. 🤬. Water was very clean. I do remember seeing a snake swimming in it while I was once having a dip! Probably just a grass snake - I gather that they’re good swimmers.
The properties are popular with well-heeled Londoners, since not far to go for the weekend, with various sports inc. water-skiing, thrown in.

TargusEasting · 21/05/2022 09:49

For the same money:

Montana

County Limerick

Perugia

JennyForeigner · 21/05/2022 09:58

Just think of the mosquitos

shudder

pearandsausage · 21/05/2022 10:05

I think you're missing the point, it'll be marketed as a holiday house and probably in the region of £1000 a night.
