In quite a small flat, really.

I don't know, what do you think?

In an age of rising water levels it feels like a lot of money to be giving the flood risk a head start.

Yes yes also to the rats.

SpidersAreShitheads · 20/05/2022 22:32

It’s in the Cotswolds. I’m in Gloucestershire, so pretty close - but not in the Cotswolds. Cotswolds are mega bucks compared to the rest of this area.

it’s definitely not the arse end of nowhere 😂😂 It might not be to your taste which is absolutely fair enough but there are plenty of lovely Cotswold towns around it.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/05/2022 22:33

That is definitely not the arse end of nowhere

TinaYouFatLard · 20/05/2022 22:35

It looks like paradise to me! Except I’d spend eternity swatting away gnats and mosquitos.

Ohilovetorave · 20/05/2022 22:36

Another batshit thread with people thinking Lechlade is nr Telford or in Scotland, Cotswolds are hardly the arse end of nowhere! 🤣

It's not close to anywhere nice. And it's this weird isolated Truman Show type place.

It’s in a very luxury holiday complex of other holiday homes on the water park, and there’s a premium on it for that. You wouldn’t be buying it to live in but to let out.

For that money in the village itself or just around you’d get a fairly large period vicarage or equivalent with good gardens, if you want to live here.

I might be biased about the area, but it is close to anywhere nice - not far from Cirencester and all the lovely villages we have round here, typical Cotswolds, close to places like Kelmscott and Bibury, some of the most picturesque places around!

Wheredoestheblackfluffcomefrom · 20/05/2022 22:42

It looks amazing

Jellykat · 20/05/2022 22:43

I live on the West Welsh coast, and you think Lechlade is the arse end of nowhere 😂😂

onlywork55 · 20/05/2022 22:44

I wouldn’t turn it down if someone offered it as a gift! It does look nice. But if I were spending £1.5m of my own money there are many other places I’d rather live.

TaranThePigKeeper · 20/05/2022 22:45

And some of you need a geography lesson!

MayBeee · 20/05/2022 22:46

If anyone needs a push to go for it - Lechlade has a year round Christmas shop . Lots of Christmas decorations ( nice ones )

And a brilliant junky antiquey shop, and competing posh bakeries!

ZandathePanda · 20/05/2022 22:50

Ooo this was in a tv series about a privileged Uni student who may/may not have killed her friend and dumped her in a wheely bin. This, or a neighbour’s house was her parents house. Forgetting the series is driving me mad!

Offintothesunset · 20/05/2022 22:54

It's been on the market since October last year so clearly not that attractive a proposition

wwyd2021medicine · 20/05/2022 22:54

It's a holiday home. I would doubt you would be allowed to register for a GP or send children to a local school as it's often in the leasehold that this is not allowed - along with drying washing outside.
Service charges will be v high as well as having to pay the management company a fee for any changes to the building such as new windows. Service charge will cover up keep of tennis courts, pool, landscaped grounds and security.
The lakes have managed levels and don't flood. I'm within 50m of one at the moment 😊
It's not the arse end of nowhere but there is no obligation to like the Cotswolds

GrasssInPocket · 20/05/2022 22:55

Not to be confused with the development in Roath, Cardiff called The Lakes By Yer.

Kekky · 20/05/2022 22:56

Nah, I saw Lake and I immediately thought … Midges.
And it's a flat.

Booboobibles · 20/05/2022 23:03

It reminds me of the palm thing in Dubai (on one of the photos)….I mean it’s greener and quieter but it’s man made.

Larach · 20/05/2022 23:04

For £1.5m i want a loo my guests can use without going into a bedroom. That's a really strange layout.

Crispynoodle · 20/05/2022 23:08

Flooding

PickAChew · 20/05/2022 23:08

Took me a while to find the kitchen in the floor plan.

hangsangwitch · 20/05/2022 23:12

I used to work for Jade Jagger and when these were built about 10 years ago, she fancied herself as an interior designer and was commissioned to do the interior design on this development. Her designs were so awful they struggled to sell them.

They’ve obviously remodelled since then and this one looks very nice now.

Notdoingthis · 20/05/2022 23:20

This is the opposite of the arse end of nowhere. It is really well connected. Not far from Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Gloucester, Cheltenham. Less than 2 hours to London and very close to beautiful Cirencester. The lakes are beautiful.
I would rather live in a more secluded place though.

But it wouldn’t be you entertaining guests - it’s a holiday home so you’d all be guests.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 20/05/2022 23:25

I'm sorry but that's an ITV three-parter police drama waiting to happen. Mass murder at the weekend gated community.

You'd probably bump into Tory ministers and other such unsavoury characters.
