Sleep headphones recommendations

teawamutu · 20/05/2022 19:44

My beloved sleep headphones have just died. They make me look a pillock but they've cured my insomnia.

Can any MNer recommend a new pair? Preferably soft fabric headband or eye mask.

Bonus points for ones that don't have an annoying blinking light and a voice announcing CONNECTED very loudly while DH is trying to sleep...

Ooooh interesting! I have seen eye masks that have earphones attached. I wonder if they are any good? I could do with some myself.

They've changed my life, Kitten. Shut out light and play me a nice soothing podcast while I drift off.

I’m worried about my phone being on all night and buzzing and burring all night!

floppybit · 20/05/2022 20:27

I wear headphones to sleep and listen to rain. @KittenKong make sure you put your phone on silent AND flight mode then it won't make a sound. I bought one of those headbands but the speaker inside digs into my ear, so I just use normal in ear wired headphones in one ear. Looking forward to getting some recommendations for alternatives

No recommendations, but a big thank you - I never knew these existed!

Hearprotek 2 Pairs Sleep earbuds,... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0832K9P66?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These in-ear ones are soft, so won't make your ears sore.

Do these plug into a phone ? Are they any good ?

KittenKong · 24/05/2022 07:11

Ok - so the headband one was much better than I expected! It doesn’t block out external noise (well they wouldn’t would they) but you can focus on your noise!

They were comfortable and very simple to use. So I’m happy. Well the only thing was I woke up when the audiobook stopped (I put a timer on it) and I was dolbking to switch off my phone (autopilot - I didn’t need to since it was on silence).

So for that price - excellent!

Music cosy from Amazon are the best. I find the eye mask type too bulky

fizzybootlace · 24/05/2022 07:31

Musicozy from Amazon, irs the best one I've had. I also use an app called Polite which turns the phone to silent automatically between certain hours so no disturbances. Done wonders for my sleep!!

I'm looking at this now 👍

The ones that broke were actually those Grow linked to, but to be fair they did over a year of nightly use before succumbing.

Have replaced them with another MC pair shaped more like an eye mask, with Velcro at the back. So far VG, and not as loud when announcing POWER ON, CONNECTED.
