Any pharmacists about? Trimethoprim query

DD3 is 4 days into a 7 day course of trimethoprim for suspected uti. She was awake throughout the night with fever. The side effects listed say to seek advice if you develop a fever. Have not been able to get through to GP and DD now asleep. How concerned should I be? Don't know whether to give her the next dose when she wakes.

One of my children had utis.

Personally I'd seek medical advice via GP. I'd be concerned about the possibility that antibiotics are not fully working and a kidney infection might be developing ( upper urinary tract infection rather than lower).

Of course fever can have other causes but I think you need actual medical advice about what to do.

Pharmacist here. Seek medical advice, as a fever after 4 days mean a different antibiotic is likely to be needed. No need to panic or anything, but get him assessed definitely.
