Covid pass for travel - paper vs. printed PDF copy from app?

For European travel (UK to Canaries), is there any benefit to having a paper copy sent by 119 rather than just printing the PDF version that you can download from the app? I can't see that there is but I don't know if I'm missing anything!

No

I was just going to print the PDF version, be interested in seeing the answers!

No difference. Have travelled twice in the last 9 months, once to Ibiza, and once to Lanzarote and both times had the Covid pass printed as pdf AND saved on my phone just in case. Both times only looked at the pdf, and to be honest barely glanced at it!

Oh, I hadn't thought of this. I've got mine saved on the cloud as a pdf and in the app. I thought that would be enough. Should I print everything?

I printed the PDF and had it saved to my phone, it was checked at the UK side in the que for check in, wasn't checked on landing in Gran Canaria

@Seedoftime I'd save to device ideally, you can't rely on the internet working when you land in order to access the cloud. I always take a print of things too in case my battery were to fail

Brilliant, thank you everyone!

I'd get both to be honest. My phone packed up just before we were about to fly. DH struggled to get a signal while we were away as well.

I'm going on Monday and have sent off for the pass, it is exactly the same as the .pdf one I have downloaded.

I prefer a paper version as on two separate occasions I have had phone mishaps - first time I lost it before I had even left Manchester airport (left it in the plastic tray in security, got it back eventually) and second time I dropped it on a tiled patio, completely smashed the screen rendering it unuseable. So I definitely can't rely on showing anything on my phone Grin

@Madmog yes but that’s why you print from your phone in advance.
