The yearly rant....

2 days of warm/hot weather. In the shade. Covered up, lotioned up.....

SMOTHERED head to pissing toe in Prickly Heat for the 20th year fucking running.

Antihistamines do not work, even prescription.

Allergy sun creams do not work.

Dettol soap does not work.

Pore cleansers do not work.

I am fucking fed up with it, and if one more family member, work colleague, friend says: "Ooh but it's lovely/the hotter the better/you are just being miserable" one more time I may Will Smith them.

I just want to hide under my lightweight duvet until October. I hate it. 😭

Pointless rant over, sorry!

I'm heat intolerant too. I hate it. I just stay indoors hugging a fan and spraying water on my face. Luckily I live in a cooler part of the country so I just about survive. If I lived down south I'd be in a bad state. I have Scandinavian genes so need to be cold 😃

As the sun makes it's appearance I can honestly feel a blanket of depression descending upon me.
The neverending days, the expectations that you're out there socialising in the sun, the summer wardrobe....
Awful.

@KylieCharlene

I do actually love all things you mention. The thought of endless days, kids running around with paddling pools, an ice cold beer in a beer garden surrounded by friends whilst wearing my £1 primark flip-flops, I love.

Unfortunately my body does not. To know that I am going to be scratching my whole body red raw, everyday from now until Oct feels me with absolute dred.

OP I have the raw skin problem too - I'm wondering what to do about it.

I wouldn't mind summer in different circumstances but my body doesn't like it and I have to cover myself more as the broken skin gets worse. No idea how to prevent it.

I really hate the warm weather. Im living for autumn when the nights start closing in again and it is cooler. Not a popular opinion here though, my whole family think in crazy. They are sun worshippers!

LetsGoCrazyPurpleBanana · 18/05/2022 10:31

I hear you. Hate the heat. On medication which means I'm sun sensitive plus I'm fair skinned. Roll on autumn.
