Dog hates the ‘cone of shame’

TederDog was extremely depressed and agitated with the cone of shame after being neutered, so I got a surgical recovery suit. The little so-and-so can open the poppers! Grin Any ideas please?

You can get inflatable collars.

Nappy pins would help. Amazon

What about sewing some Velcro between the poppers?

I use a body suit which has velcro, but at night I have a repurposed onesie as the full leg coverage and zip along the back makes it really hard for them to get into

He’s quite long in the body and I do wonder if he could reach around an inflatable collar but it’s worth a try! Thank you.

Thanks so much. I’ll have a look. Thank goodness for Amazon prime, eh?

That might make it more challenging for him, so worth a try. Thanks. :)

Thank you for the suggestion. Did you make it? I’m not that skilled in this area!

Forcing him to wear it for a few weeks until he’s healed it my only advice. Our foster pup was like this, chewed through the pointless surgical vest and licked his wound until infected. The inflatable thing did Jack shit. Cone and lots of treats for a few weeks and then he’ll forget all about it after a day or so.
