Annual water meter charges - 2/3 occupants

If you're a family of 2/3, I'd be grateful if you could let me know your annual costs on a water meter. I phoned our supplier many years ago and was told it wasn't worth transferring to a water meter (two of us then). BIL says he pays £11pm for a family of four, but I know my Mum on her own pays nearly £300pa.

It varies by area. We pay less for 3/4 than dm does on her own. Ours is £30 pm.

Family of 3, £22 a month

Two adults £33 a month, but DGC stay regularly and almost live in the bath and shower!

Ours is £53 a month. No idea why it's so much. We've checked for leaks. We don't use a sprinkler or anything that uses tons of water but our bill seems to be very high compared to other bigger families in our area. There's just two of us.

Mine is £24 pm just for me. I really don't think I waste water at all. There must be regional differences as well depending on your provider, though? Mine is Thames Water.

Ours is £42 per month for a house with 2 adults and 1 teen (plus another one in uni holidays). We're on a water meter.

£90 per month, family of 4 in the southwest. We use a lot and south west water are expensive anyway 🤔🤷‍♀️😪

ILoveMyMonkey · 16/05/2022 17:12

3 of us £30pm on a meter

Water companies operate via a regional system so the prices will vary wildly from Bristol to Cardiff let alone Bristol to Birmingham so a cross sample on here won't help much.

Your water company has calculators that estimate your measured usage based on your habits and appliances, e.g. power shower, watering the garden, washing machine use etc

I'd just give them another call and ask them to go through the calculations with you.

To answer your original question with specifics though, we're in the Dwr Cymru region and spend £35 a month on a water meter for a family of four.
