Blue edges to lips now and again - any reason to be concerned?

I've noticed that occasionally my lips are blue around the edges. I don't have any heart problems or circulation problems that I'm aware of. Blood pressure fine. If can happen when I'm feeling fine or when I'm particularly tired, like today. I do have M.E/CFS. And it's not when I'm cold.

Does anyone else have this? Is it anything to bother the GP with?

How weird, I have also noticed the same thing! No heart problems as far as I'm aware but I also have CFS. Sorry, not helpful though

Do you have Raynauds?

If you check you oxygen concentration with a pulse oximeter (find one in Boots) when it happens and your oxygen is about 97% then I would leave it until your next MS check up and then mention it then, BUT I dont know loads about Ms, so it might be worth a phonecall with the practice nurse to double check

I'd start checking your oxygen levels which you can do as stated above with an oximeter

@SeaToSki - thanks, will try that. I don't have MS, it's M.E, which can sometimes be just another term for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome! Don't have Reynauds though and every time I've had oxygen levels checked they've always been good. Even though I have asthma, it's controlled and I have no problems.

@Chippydippy - Interesting...maybe it's another 'thing'?? How long have you noticed this for?

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago but I'm sure it's happened before over the last 20 years! I have an oximeter and my oxygen is fine. I have just had covid ( positive 6 weeks ago) so not sure if it's the after effects of that 🤷‍♀️

@Chippydippy - could well be. Hopefully nothing of any importance, especially if your oxygen is fine. Will look into getting my own oxygen monitor.
