Where to go for 3 nights?

DH and I were booked to go to Seville for 3 nights in September for our anniversary, but BA helpfully messed with the flight times so not worth it.

Where would people recommend? Just us, we love food, would like some decent nightlife and places to visit. Oh, and nice weather!

Seville with another airline? Use Skyscanner to see if there's anything available.

Or fly to Malaga and get the train to Seville.

Or fly to Malaga and stay in Malaga, because that's pretty great for 3 nights too.

We once flew to Malaga, had a day up in the mountains walking El Caminto del Rey, then a couple of days in Granada, followed by coach to Seville (there is a train but it wasn't running when we were there) and 4 nights in Seville. On one of the days we got the train for the day from Seville to Cordoba. Best holiday ever.

Sorry, I should have said the flight was booked entirely with Avios, so we're stuck with BA!

Ah, I suspected as much. I always wonder if I'm missing out by not collecting Avios, but they sound like they're more trouble than they're worth and no good if you don't live near an airport with a good selection of BA flights to places you want to go, which meant near London for European flights last time I looked.

Palma, Valencia, Lisbon, Santorini?

BadAtMaths2 · 16/05/2022 13:18

Malaga if you can - it's a great weekend destination.

Berlin is good value for 3 days.

Valencia is also fabulous.

Bilbao? Paris? Rome?

Literally any European city.

It really is good. We have a BA Amex and put everything on it, so it really adds up.

Malta! Great nightlife, food, culture, so easy to get around, the architecture is stunning and it has a lot of history.

cptartapp · 16/05/2022 13:44

Been to both Malaga and Seville this last year. Amazing places&"4 a short trip.
Copenhagen?

maddy68 · 16/05/2022 13:49

Sevilla (just rebook!)
Barcelona
Prague
Rome

Athens was so much better than i expected. Stay in Thissio, full of gorgeous tree lined pavement cafes leading up to the Acropolis . Close to underground, Monisteraki flea Market, plenty of rooftop bars etc in Athens

budgiegirl · 16/05/2022 15:01

Rome! Just back from a three night break there, it's absolutely beautiful, stunning, lots to see and do, lovely restaurants and bars. I love it, I've been three times and it still makes me get a bit emotional when I'm there! I'm not religious, or particularly into history, but it blows me away every time I go.

LondonKitKat · 16/05/2022 16:16

Porto or Bilbao/San Sebastian?

JorisBonson · 17/05/2022 14:10

We rock paper scissored last night and we're off to Barcelona
