Camping Pod or Camping in a tent ?

Sorry I do realise that there is a camping topic but need quickish answers.

We've booked to go camping for 3 nights for Queens Jubilee weekend. 2 adults and one dog.Big tent, I'll get my own compartment which is good as I struggle to sleep camping. I've also bought a disposable bag thing for night time wees as I hate walking to the toilet block at night time. As you can probably tell I'm not an amazing camper !

Anyway a camping pod has become available at the site. It's not a posh one so it's basically a shed. Pros are it would be warm and dry despite the weather. Cons are DH would make me use the toilet block I think and we'd all be together including large dog.

Anyone any thoughts either way please - suspect it will sell out anyway if I don't make a quickish move on it ?

The tent option with your own pod sounds better to me. If its a camping pod with no bed you'll be on the hard wooden floor and relatively cramped compared to a pod in a tent.
What sleeping bag and mat do you have? May be worth upgrading these rather than paying more for the pod?

Sorry I mean your own room within the tent where you can wee is better than a cramped pod. I used the word pod too many times 😂

@Alvinne yes we have very good base mats - or I do anyway!

You have to decide if your priority is being warmer and drier or having some privacy...sounds like you prefer privacy. We take a wee bucket camping (lidded nappy bucket) and I wouldn't care if DP doesn't like it, but he doesn't mind and uses it himself

@NecklessMumster DH is funny peculiar about night time wees and refuses to use or countenance a night time bucket. I've bought some travel johns but they only work if I have privacy to use them NB DH is the one being funny about this, plus in the pod I'd probably wake up the dog with my moving around.

I messaged DH and he thought we should stick with the tent and I think I'm inclined to agree as the pod is also twice the price ( but not hugely expensive either way).I'll look out and see if any glamping pods become available as they have a loo and a mattress, mind you at £110 per night they're more than most Premier Inns .

We camp. Never walk to the loo. Bush and a tissue! Never even wake ddog when I sneak out! Wouldn't be allowing my dh to dictate how I wee....

Yes tent sounds better, hope you have a good time, makes me want to go camping now!
