Passport delays - 1st passport

Hi all

How long did it take for your child's first passport to arrive?
We've sent ours last month and they said it can take up to 10 weeks. Any chance it will be earlier than that ?

It varies, I applied for DD's mid-March and it came on Wednesday, 8 weeks and 1 day since applying. A friend applied for her daughter's a couple of weeks after me and it came a week earlier so 5 weeks in total.

-Initial application end of feb
-Identity confirmed start of March
-documents sent start of April but not confirmed received until start of may,
-passport recieved Friday just gone.

We submitted our daughters first passport application online on the 15th March and had a query back on the 15th April requesting further documents...urgh.

We thought all hope was lost for our early June holiday especially as it took 3 weeks for them to acknowledge the additional documents sent.....even though they were sent 48 hr tracked delivery.

However the passport was approved the same day the documents were acknowledged (8th May) and it landed on the doorstep 3 days later! So even with the additional document request it only took 8 weeks total.

I just wanted to share as it might be reassuring for anyone waiting in limbo...as we were, because the app really lacked updates and didn't really tell us anything until it was done and printed!

It went to Peterborough for info.
