How often do you go away on holiday as a family?

Just wondered how often go away on holidays as a family each year, Including weekends, etc? Ours varies each year.

One foreign holiday (out of season) and maybe two weekends, if that. We prefer days out.

Ski holiday
Summer camping trip
Some weekend camping trips

In addition DDs and I visit my parents in London a few times a year for 4days or so.

So we get away a lot, but apart from the ski trip its cheap.

One main holiday, not always abroad though. This year it's a lodge in a scotland, next year a sunshine holiday booked.
Often a camping trip for a few days.
2/3 weekends away if we can get them in.
If the kids are booked on a couple of scout camps we don't usually bother going camping as a family.

One holiday abroad, one week camping Trip in the summer hols and then around 4 mini weekend camping trips.

DH has a full and active life at home which apparently means he cannot go on a family holiday without moaning about it and wishing the time away.

I now take the Dcs away twice a year for a holiday at a holiday park type place and every half term for an overnighter somewhere. In Covid times we did not go abroad. This year we hope to go to Paris or Greece. If we go to Greece (the location of our last full family holiday) then DH might well be persuaded to join.

I get annoyed about it, but he is very much a home bod and I am a travel bod. So we have come to a semi agreement about it all.

We used to do 2 weeks in summer one week alternate October half term and a week in April. Oh and the year we didn't get October we would get a few days away in February. I'm a GP so we can't take all the holidays like many others I assume

Hoola- days out are also great.

Dh is a wedding photographer so we usually manage Monday to Friday in the summer and a weekend at Easter and or October half term.

We have two weeks in Summer and often a small break in Easter, May or October half-term. The Summer is mostly abroad, the others can be anything.

Then we do a long weekend each visiting the grandparents back in our home country. But I wouldn't say these are holidays as much as I like seeing family.

most years a week in the summer, and then a couple of short breaks. Most often 2-3 nights in a Premier Inn.

weekends are holidays too. 🙂
