Hi all I hope some one can point me in the right direction or offer some support. My HB sustained a broken hip and shoulder during an assault unfortunately the hip has never healed and this happened last year. The hip never fully healed he was seen recently on referral for a possible bone graft but he is not deemed suitable and they have in a nutshell diagnosed Burtitis inflammation of the tendon round the hip and scaring round the break and a fragment of bone has grown in the wrong place. I am not happy with this diagnosis and the prognosis that he will just have to live with a broken hip but hopefully can get the pain management relieved to a level to cope with. I honestly don’t know where to go next with this any advice who can I talk too or who can advise us next second opinion is what I’m after. I would be extremely grateful so I can support my other half who has already been through so much. He is going to have a steroid injection in the hip but do not know when this will happen and he is currently on a waiting list to see the consultant again but there are no appointments available and he is on the waiting list to get an appointment after the injection this is four months at the earliest so more time goes by. If I am wrongly posting on this I totally apologise. I am grateful for the care my other half has received but this has been going on so long and now this is all totally unexpected. I won’t go into how this has affected work and home life We just currently do not have one.
