Trainers for wide footed/high instep pre-schooler

Hi I'm looking for recomendations for the above, DC has a very high instep and wide'ish feet, the best fitting shoes for him by far have always been Startrite G fit, I'm really not feeling their summer trainer selection though and wanted something that dare I say look a little more stylish, their winter boots and trainers have been lovely but a lot of their summer ones either look to baby, baby or too smart.

Can anyone recommend good brands or a particular trainer even which might fit the bill, ideally velcro so we're not worrying about tripping over laces?

We've had Geox and Stan Smiths recommended in the past neither of which have fastened all the way across.

I'd have a look on Happy Little Soles. If you email them, they're usually happy to advise on what shoes might suit a particular foot type.

Ecco and later Salomon were the only shoes that ever fitted m DC1.

My preschooler DD has the world's highest instep and very wide (but short) feet, they are basically blocks Grin We've had success with this sort of style: www.clarks.co.uk/c/City-Bright-Toddler/p/26149092

Another one whose son has cuboid feet!

I’d also recommend Happy Little Soles - you can filter by shoes for wide and high instep. We’ve had some lovely shoes from there and they really have been a great fit.

wellies have been a particular problem for us, to the extent that we avoided going out on wet days - but the ones we got from Happy Little Soles have been a revelation.

We found converse good for DS at that age.

I find adult converse narrow and they shred my feet. The kids sized ones though are child foot shaped - no issues with blisters and they went on easily.
