Good morning all! What's everyone up to today?

I had a lie in & have just made my second coffee of the day. I can hear dd2 moving about upstairs so expect the peace down here won't last much longer 🤷‍♀️

I've put tonight's gammon in the slow cooker already & tidied round in the kitchen.

My plan for today is to finish ironing school shirts, nip to Asda for a few bits & do a couple of things for Rainbows and Guides on Tuesday.

This afternoon, depending on whether the girls want to cook up any delights in the kitchen; I need to seal story props for next week, make playdough, and want to carry on with my cable reel transformation.

If they're not in the kitchen with me, both girls have homework and coursework to be getting on with.

Hopefully I'll get a few hours to work on one of my crochet projects too 🤞

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning, we’re not long up and just having coffee and bacon butties. DH is about to do the ironing and I’ll potter and then have a shower.
DD is bringing a ‘friend’ for lunch (we suspect they are more than friends 🤣🤣). I’n doing chicken thighs in a sort of tray bake (peppers/onions/garlic and herbs) with Jersey Royals and butter plus a salad. I’ve made a trifle for pudding (just need to do the cream later).
apart from just getting things ready for the week, we’re having a lazy day - football on telly later and we might go for an early evening walk to the lake near us and take some photos. DH is away for a few nights tomorrow.
I’m tired today, we were up late watching Eurovision and our friends left at 1am!!

Good morning ☀️
I had a lie in today as it's the first Sunday I have had off work in a while. Woke up and made everyone pancakes. I have bad period pains so taken some paracetamol and sat here with a hot water bottle whilst the DC play with Lego. Attempting to read a true crime magazine DH bought me but constantly being roped into Lego.
May or may not go to a soft play this afternoon depending on spaces, ours is always booked out! There's uniform ironing to do but DH will do that, laundry and random bits about the house. I'm really tired from a full on week at work and cramping so was hoping for the rainy day today, so I could curl up on the couch with a movie with DC guilt free 😞 The suns come out and I'm devastated 🤣

Boring day today as we were out from 9am-7pm yesterday. Kids all in different places, at different events and we need a day to catch up.

Waiting for the older kids to get back from a sleepover for baths, homework etc and I've got a pile of ironing taller than myself to get through.

Cajun chicken breasts (lemon and thyme for the kids) with new potatoes, coleslaw and salad for dinner.

Food shop is due to arrive soon so I can get on with batch cooking for the week ahead. Planning to do a ragu and a chicken stew thing we all like.

Nothing!

Sat in conservatory with doors open listening to music just eaten breakfast and a squirrel has just poked it’s head in the door, made me jump.

About to go out for a walk with DH, was planning a BBQ but looks like rain. Will do a little gardening if rain holds off. Probably a board game later after dinner with DS and his GF. Helping a friend do a difficult mission in an online game this evening. Nice guy who has had a depressive episode recently, have gamed with him for 7 years on and off. Will watch next episode of Marcella with DH later.

Morning @lucysmam I wrote a long reply and then MN went all glitchy and I lost it grrr

Do you often have to do stuff over the weekend for work eg is it expected or do you just enjoy it?

We all had a bit of a lie in, ocado just arrived so putting that away. Usual Sunday jobs of getting ready for the week ahead, one DC has just announced they need new wellies for a school trip as theirs has a hole in and clearly they haven't thought to announce this before now 🤣 I really don't want to have to drive all the way to town so might see if I can get some online

The greenhouse aka the dumping ground still needs a sort out and I want to pot on some seedlings. Haven't got as much growing as last year so far but hopefully it's not too late. Today I want to pot on strawberries and start planting sunflower seeds.

Might take the DC on a short bike ride this afternoon where I will probably walk carrying tired toddler plus bike!

Sausage and mash and roasted parsnips for dinner. Also want to make cauliflower cheese and DC have requested macaroni cheese so will do that too.

Bath book and early night I hope. My sleep hasn't been great recently so have bought myself some sleepy bath salts so looking forward to trying them tonight.

lucysmam · 15/05/2022 10:40

@nova99 it sounds like you could do with the day on the sofa Thanks

@Plantsandpuddlesuits no, I don't have to! I'm the more creative of the three of us in our class & I enjoy crafting so am happy to spend some time making the props. They don't take very long & I usually do bits of them in-between other stuff.

My OP last week went very strange when I posted it 🤷‍♀️

It was my day to get up with the little ones (we take it in turns at weekends) so we’ve made pancakes and watched a lot of Peter Rabbit this morning while doing a couple of washes
Today the plan is to mow the lawn and tidy up the garden a little bit and take the DC for a bike ride/scoot to the park and for an ice cream
Cottage pie for tea

Although it was glorious yesterday and we went shopping (engagement ring shopping 😁) and for lunch, and today it looks overcast and we have outdoor plans - didn’t plan that very well did we, should’ve done it the other at round

BalloonsAndWhistles · 15/05/2022 11:10

Currently having a hot chocolate from my velvetiser. Taking DSS home later and DH is going to do some DIY at his ex-wife’s place as her house is getting quite rundown and the landlord isn’t doing anything. We don’t like the idea of DSS’s bedroom door not being on its hinges and DSD’s curtain pole having fallen off.

NeededAction · 15/05/2022 11:14

Having a lovely chilled out Sunday: duvet day! Will watch a movie later and I’ve got some really yummy food for today 😁.

though reading everyone else’s plans, I am going to put a wash on at least haha

FabulousKilljoys · 15/05/2022 11:17

Morning all. Well toddlers temperature has sorted itself out and he's been bouncing around all morning so I reckon whatever it was it's gone! 48 hour whatever he's picked up from nursery I guess. I can hear my 11yo in the bathroom so she's finally out of bed! I'll put some bacon on for sarnies and another pot of coffee for me.

Miserable day here, typically! It was gorgeous yesterday and we had to cancel our plans. Today we'll just potter about, I think. Stay comfy. There'll no doubt be minecraft later, and I'm making a lasagna for dinner with a home made garlic tear and share. I think I have ice cream in the freezer so that'll do for pud.

Then baths tonight and a chill out before the week begins.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/05/2022 11:21

Morning all. Chilled day today just pottering, after a busy Saturday. Made a cooked breakfast and now I am relaxing on the sofa with my iPad and my bf is on his computer next door. Taking the dog out later.

gingercat02 · 15/05/2022 11:24

Finally having a relaxing morning. DS had emergency surgery on Friday night so Friday and Saturday were a total right off!
He's recovering well thankfully so we have chilled a bit today. Going to cut the hedge later, then DH will go for a bike ride while DS and I veg out in the garden. I may have a sunshine glass of Rosé.

Potterbore · 15/05/2022 11:27

We had a day out at the coast yesterday so today is a quieter day.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee shortly and then later cooking a roast dinner for tea.

jmh740 · 15/05/2022 11:31

Currently sat outside church waiting for ds to finish scouts church parade, ive nipped to asda so I can tell everyone I've been shopping this morning in reality it was 5 mins in asda and 55 in spoons having breakfast,
Am now undecided whether I should go home tidy up do loads of washing and generally potter around or if I should take the dog to a farmers market I've just seen advertised on fb, dd 15 had a sleep over last night so they may or may not still be in bed when I get back, oh is in bed unwell and ds will just want to be glued to his xbox for the rest of the day.

Late to the party but hello all!

I'm going to an escape room later. Bit anxious about it but it's only 60 minutes - have told a friend where my will is kept!

Did lots of walking yesterday and have a good old walk to the escape room so hopefully my lardy arse will have some more exercise!
