Why do posters start threads with controversial opinions

then get them pulled because other posters don't agree with them?

I was interested in a thread that just disappeared about half an hour ago. No-one was rude or unpleasant. Several posters had different opinions so the OP gets the thread pulled.

Will this get pulled because it might be a TAAT?

I’ve never seen a problem about. tAAT. What’s wrong with one thread sparking another question that merits its own debate?

Some of the more controversial ones are started by goady people with less than good intentions, and the threads get pulled because of that.

Lots of trolls around unfortunately.

Sad pathetic people who have nothing in their lives and like a bit of beef.

Some people are just looking for approval and can't take a bit of Internet criticism...
