The textured walls are unusual unless a house was owned by a very elderly individual, and in a very rural setting, which is where Carlinville, IL is.
Parts of the house were probably redone (kitchen and basement anyway) fairly recently but whoever redid it left the carpets and textured walls from the 70s or 80s.
