Do you feel content in your life?

Or do you feel like you wish for your life to be different?

Mostly yes I am.

There are specific things that have happened along the way that I wish were different, and I wish DH were still alive, but generally life is good.

On a material level, yes. Nice secure home, secure income, spare money, not stressing about paying bills, dh and I both have jobs. Lovely wider families, friends, nothing to complain about there.
On a personal level, not quite as content as I could be. I’m in the throes of finding a new job and one of my dc suffers from extremely poor mental health (although thankfully currently fairly stable). If those two things could be ‘fixed’ I’d be over the moon. I’d not be bothered about the job if I could just have my happy dc back. You’re only ever as happy as your saddest child.
I do however try and count my blessings, of which there are so so many, I know this.
But my god this is taking its toll ☹️

Fairly, yes. I'd like more money, but who wouldn't. I've got a house that I own, flexible job (for now), healthy happy DS, lovely family and friends.

I'd like to lose a stone or 2 though!

Yes, but I always have been.

cptartapp · 12/05/2022 20:16

Yes mostly. Good marriage, healthy smart teens, plenty of money, gorgeous house, reliable jobs and hoping to retire at 55.
My parents are both dead since my early 40's and thats the only negative.
But now at 50 looking back there's not one thing I'd choose to do differently. All the negative stuff has been beyond my control.
So content, but take nothing for granted hence the plan to retire early and travel whilst health allows.

I am content in terms the life we have day to day. We’re very comfortable and can pretty much do what we like. I have a lovely partner and children, nice homes, we do nice things etc.

But I hate the things happening in the wider world and often wish I just wasn’t part of it. I think people assume it’s like depression but it’s really not, it’s just not liking the way things are. Part of me wants to try to help and another part of me wants to just escape and hide.

I am quite content. I'm surrounded by what I love. I feel happy most of the time.
