WWYD - bag stolen with house keys and address (London)

Hello,

Tonight my DH's bag was stolen in a central London bar and inside it were his house keys and address (on his drivers licence). He is most worried about his laptop, but I am concerned that they have keys and our address. He says he 'guarantees' they won't be interested in coming into our flat to steal anything but I am a bit worried about going into work tomorrow without changing the locks!

What would others do? Am I being overly concerned?

I'd take the morning off and get an emergency locksmith out to change the locks.

I’d be calling a locksmith to get the locks changed.
For the sake of a couple of hundred quid, it’s a no brainer.
No way would I be going to work and leaving my property unattended in this scenario.

I’d call the police and report the stolen items, notify DVLA that driving licence has been stolen and contact my insurance company - does your policy cover replacement locks?

I’d feel very uneasy overnight and probably wedge things against doors (I live alone with my child) and call work in the morning to say that you can’t come in as you’re having all the locks changed.

Your husband is probably correct but personally I couldn’t rest until I’d done all the above. Hope you’re ok OP.

I changed the locks when this happened to me.

Thanks all, I feel the same, just needed a nudge to go with my gut! I definitely wouldn't be able to relax all day knowing that they could get in, and we have an additional lock we can use from the inside overnight thankfully.

Change the locks definitely.
Plus set up a financial check on your address that alerts you if anything financial was taken out IE loan credit card etc.

And your DH really needs to not carry driving license in his wallet.
