How much summer clothing do you buy your dc?

Went through all the kids summer stuff from last year and lots has been outgrown and needs replacing. I have 3 dc but don’t hand down between them as girl, boy, girl and I feel it’s very unfair if youngest dd was dressed in oldest dd’s cast off while dd1 and ds have all new. My question is how much is enough? I am trying to cut down a bit so thinking 14 outfits plus beach wear for holidays but wondering what the average is.

That is a huge list.

DD may had between 3-5 pair of shorts, depending where we go on holiday. 1-2 of these are nicer ones which she also wore for parties/eating out.

T-shirts - she had a lot as she wore them all year round with jumpers/cardigans over it.

Sandals - one pair

Jackets - one demin and a waterproof outdoor one.

She loved dresses so had various of the H&M sleeveless ones, she often wore them with T-shirts underneath and some nicer ones, but not party style dresses.

With just weekends and May half-term/Summer holidays she wouldn't have had the time to wear it all before she outgrew it the next year.

So far I've picked up some shorts for DD10. Shes not the biggest fan of dresses, hates playsuit. Tshirts worn all year round.

I need to get sandals.

9yo likes dresses so she'll have a few of those.

Our summer holiday is camping and watersports, so quite different clothing requirements.

4/5 t shiets
4 pairs of shorts
flipflops
swimming costume
maybe a summer dress

try and get them a size or two too big so they can be worn for more than one year

definitely hand me down - why on earth not? Can always top up the younger child’s wardrobe with one new thing or a refresher.

If your going on a two week holiday then I’d personally take two weeks worth of clothes too. I normally wash while abroad but it’s not always easy to find a laundry.

all of my kids have about 20 T-shirts but I do normally get about three years out of some.
ten tshirts,
3 dresses
2 play suits
5 pairs of shorts
2 hoodies
is the absolute minimum I’d take plus I’d need spares clean and in the wash at home.
I buy lots second hand and hand the boys things down
