Can a shoulder problem case pain in the head?

I have had the most awful pain in the side of my head, behind my ear, for a few days now. I actually contemplated calling an ambulance at 4am on Sunday morning I was in so much pain. Admittedly that would have been OTT, but it really does hurt.

The pain almost seems to start in my shoulder go up my neck and into my head. To a lesser extent it also runs down my arm, so I'm wondering if seeing my osteopath might be a better option than GP?

Yes.

A nerve in your neck can give you headaches and shoulder pain. It's the most horrible sharp stabbing headache.

Yes, yes, yes!

See a physio. Also do you use a laptop or computer - idiot question given you are on Mumsnet😂Shoulders do not like hunching over computers. Very likely you need a desk assessment at work and definitely to stop using a laptop in bed.

Finally check out your pillow - is your head level when you lie on your side or too high?

My neck and shoulder pain was transformed by physio, a desk assessment, a new pillow and moving the steering wheel in the car.

The physio unsympathetically laughed at me when I turned up with shoulder and arm pain and pointed out I couldn't move my neck.
