I'm asking for a friend who is too terrified of Mumsnet's reputation to ask for herself!
She let her house for three years while studying/ working abroad and made the mistake of engaging Purple Bricks to manage it for her. They were dreadful. She gave the tenants notice last Easter and they moved out in September. At the time the tenancy ended Purple Bricks account indicated around £600 due to her in the account.
They then removed the link to the statement that indicated they still owed her money and issued another indicating that the account was now £0.00 — which didn't seem to take into account monies they'd held on account for emergencies. They issued her with a detailed statement but it wasn't clear what some payments they'd taken were were for. My friend isn't great at reading a balance sheet and neither am I.
She's contacted PB twice asking for the £600 back and hasn't heard anything in a month. Has anyone else been through this?
