Starting new job and biopsy etc

Hi all. I went for interview for job Few days after interview, I had to go to A and E as I had extremely bad cramps and pain.
I was told I have ovarian cyst 8cm and a few other issues. I was referred to gynaecologist as urgent.
Next day I got told I had the job. Its all gone very quick and I'm meant so start this week. My Gp was in contact with me earlier about my referral I might need operation.
Of all times!! What do I tell my new employer? Please help? I don't want to start next week and then have more appointments and date 4 surgery etc but I do want this job too. It's a great job

Oh gosh this exact same thing happened to me 5 years ago. In fact my pre op was on the morning of my second day at work 😳 and my op after three weeks in post.

It was a large employer and large and actually they were used to accommodating such things so they just went with it.

I was mortified that my first conversation with every person I encountered had to accommodate for this though.

I am going through the exact thing now. It is awful. No advice OP, just hand hold.
