Travelling to USA

I’m travelling end of month to see son and family for the first time in 3 years and a bit alarmed at the “ covid test within 24 hours of flying” rule still currently in place, according to official USA guidance. Flying recently to the Far East it was within 48 hours which was much more manageable.
I am getting a bit anxious, although hopeful the rules change in next couple of weeks.
Anyone been recently and managed not to get in too much of a panic about getting the result in time for a mid morning flight?
thanks in advance

That must cost a lot if they have to wait all that time. Can it be any LTF that you have around your house?

It depends what you mean by a lot - Breatheassured is £29 for this. The cheapest option is to buy (it cannot be an NHS one) one and then add in a DOCHQ option of video (£15) and certificate (£8) but they dont stay on the call and it can be delayed. For me the extra small amount is worth it to leave having the certificates with me and gives me the rest of the day to pack and get ready

It is what it is - it how you travel to the US at the moment. Should it be another hoop - probably not but until the US changes it processes to enter it must be done.

Europe is cheaper (if you need to test if unvaccinated) as it doesnt need to be supervised

Thanks everyone, I’ve booked a lateral flow in a local chemist now as I’m anxious about not having a good online connection!
29.99 at a local Lloyds pharmacy
tested neg at home this morning for first time in a week so fingers crossed....

Got my negative result this morning thank goodness! At a fairly local Lloyds chemist. Can thoroughly recommend, easy booking, quick service and given a printed result which I uploaded to the airline for verification.
