Cremation adverts auuugh

Perhaps it's my age (mid 50s) or the fact I live in a predominately retired area, but I am so fed up with every other TV advert being for. "cheap creation to there lots on money left over for a reet good do".

Every. Other. Advert. Makes me want to arrange a burial with a New Orleans Jazz Band, full military honours and a line of professional mourners smiting themselves.

Oh and why are creation adverts the only ones that do not have non white actors on them? Do non white people not die?

Having just cremated my husband I find them hard to bear too.

So sorry for those who have lost loved ones.

I do think it is part of a sea change in attitudes in this country though. People used to live near where they were born, and brought up... get buried, with a proper funeral with everyone from their long local life turning out.

Now we move all over, so funerals are getting smaller. I notice it more and more... 80 year old local dies, 200 of us at the funeral... 50 year old, lived here 5 years, from 600 miles away, 12 of us at the funeral.

I'll be going for no funeral (my mum did too, it was her choice, all paid for with the paperwork laid out before she went to hospital).
