If I do a restore, will I lose my media?

I found my iPod touch. I bought it years ago and I used to have it on me every day for the guts of about 7 or 8 years. Then I started using it less.

The last time I used it was when I brought it on holidays with me about 3 years ago. It was put aside and I forgot about it or I was too busy to use my iPod.

I found it today but there's a passcode to the iPod. I tried some of my most obvious passcode but it didn't work. Now, I am nearly certain I set it a 4 digit PIN code I had for my ATM card back then. The thing is, I don't have my back card any more and I kept forgetting my code so I changed my ATM code to something more memorable.

I am so stuck at trying to remember my passcode, old ATM number. I think maybe I might have got it now but I can't be certain.

This this ever happen to anyone else?

Does anyone know if o was to do a factory restore - will o lose everything onmmy ipod. I had some good music on my iPod back in the day. I don't want to lose it because I have no way of getting back all that old music.

You need to log into your old iTunes library (blast from the past) and see what has been backed up.

if you used to back up regularly then you'll
he able to restore those files to your iPad once you’ve reset it.

if you restore it then yes you will lose the data. Back up is the only option - although happy to be corrected!

I don't have the laptop that I used before with my iPod.

Unfortunately I never backed up regularly. In the years before I stopped using the iPod I stopped backing up.

I would still have some music on the iTunes but not a lot.

I am trying to remember my old pin code by rehashing the ATM keypad.

I am wrecking my brains out here on this one.

I'm just after losing it all.

I couldn't remember the passcode to the iPod at all. I tried so hard.

I did the restore and I lost it all. Apple locked me out from my old accounts.
