... without it sounding like you should have someone.

Ie single, alone to me they sound negative when actually I'm happy it's just me atm

just single surely?

Hermanfromguesswho · 08/05/2022 17:49

Happily single.
happy on my own

Imsittinginthekitchensink · 08/05/2022 17:49

I have never thought about it, I just say I'm single. If anyone probed further, I'm quite happy to say "divorced many years ago, happily single since".

BettyForgety · 08/05/2022 17:50

Not in a relationship

ChocAuVin · 08/05/2022 17:51

“Blissfully divorced” sums up my personal situation.

JanglyBeads · 08/05/2022 17:51

The only reasonsiglesoundsnegative to you is because of society's old-fashioned ideas!

HoraThird · 08/05/2022 17:51

Someone I met recently referred to themselves as 'self partnered' which I took to mean single?!

PoseyFlump · 08/05/2022 17:58

The English language needs a new word! Self partnered is the closest but sounds... well doesn't have the ring of 'happily single'.

Lightning020 · 08/05/2022 18:14

Single is bliss so why not say you are 'blissfully single'. Lol.

Alexaplaysomething · 08/05/2022 18:18

Unattached?

Antarcticant · 08/05/2022 18:20

Self-sufficient

uncomfortablydumb53 · 08/05/2022 18:21

Happily single now

PinkSyCo · 08/05/2022 18:21

Free.

Mumoblue · 08/05/2022 18:21

I don’t have any issue with saying “single”, but people do tend to assume you’d rather not be.
I usually say “happily single” or “intentionally single”.

Such twattery.

Tdcp · 08/05/2022 18:25

"Lucky" 😂

FabulousKilljoys · 08/05/2022 18:30

I usually say happily single, meaning I'm happy as I am and absolutely not interested in being in a relationship.

Splatling · 08/05/2022 18:41

Single by choice

Knifer · 08/05/2022 19:21

Well. If someone says, "do you have a partner" you say "Nope!" with a smile

forrestgreen · 08/05/2022 20:26

Bloody love 'happily single' and 'blissfully divorced'

Glad I asked!!
