Does anyone like group chat in real life?

I go out occasionally with
group of 5-6 friends but I never enjoy it as much as when I'm with 1-2 people. I just find the conversation boring and the laughs a bit forced. Also bigger events are fine too as you often splinter off into smaller groups, it's just when you go out with 5-6 so conversation is a group one.

Is it because you can only talk on a very superficial level in a big group? Is it that friends tend to be more wary of opening up or saying something controversial? Could it be because I'm introverted?

I know noone can answer these questions about me but does anyone really like big group discussions?

God yes. But I don't find the laughs forced, or the topics trivial.

But agreed, our group of 3 is closer and we admit much more personal stuff.

I prefer smaller groups as you can be more personal but still love going out with a larger group.
