Dress code in civil service

Just posting in chat for traffic.

Can anyone advise on what the dress code might be for a big government department in central London?

Been working from home during pandemic and Rees-Mogg now sending us all back into the office.

I'm not in policy so not likely to be rubbing shoulders with Ministers.

(I've forgotten how to dress smartly and my wide awkward feet would really love someone to reply that smart-ish trainers and jeans might be okay...)

@CharmingScene i think it would be described as one of those, yes. We are also based in a building with lots of ministers around so i think that also makes a difference.

I wear tailored trousers and a 'nice blouse' these days. I did wear nice flat shoes but have given up and wear smartish trainers (no one has commented).

Of course my 'nice blouses' tend to have mad looking animals and dinosaurs (hiding in bushes) on them... but they are used to me by now.

I need to know where you get these blouses

Last lot were from sugarhill Brighton (just looked - and oh my god I need this one! www.sugarhillbrighton.com/products/alva-embroidered-top-off-white-dinosaur?_pos=3&_sid=244a18c8e&_ss=r) and the ones before, sadly the shop changed and stopped selling clothes (went for all T-shirts). I have the short version of this (people always crack up when the realise there are dinos!)

My big sis made the rest (she is so talented!)
