I want to get my nose Pierced!

But I worry I'm too old and I'll look ridiculous 🙈 (I'm 31).
I just think they look so cool but IMO only certain faces pull it off 😅🙈
What do o expect of I get it peirced healing wise? Will my nose be red and swollen for ages? I've had cartilage piercings before I'm my ear which were wicked but I don't sleep on my nose so hoping it wouldn't be so cruel!
I just want a really small dainty stud in.... but I'm nervous 🙈

Ahhh yesss! Good for you! Did they use the needle or the gun? When I was chatting with them today I said I wants a small stud not a good and the recommended using the gun. I was abit cautious though because I had a upper ear gun piercing 15 years ago and the cart threw around the back of the stud! They told me that piercings have changed a lot since then so would be fine. They didn't use the word gun but o can't remember what they called it

@Wednesdayafternoon they used a needle, it was over with quickly but I definitely felt it and jumped a bit when it went in Grin my eyes watered and I was handed a tissue. There was no redness and it doesn't hurt at all now, although I keep forgetting it's there and I'm so worried that I'm going to accidentally pull it out while I'm asleep tonight. Fingers crossed that it's still there in the morning!

Go for it! I had mine done yesterday at 44. I’ve always wanted it done since I was 12 but settled for other piercings instead. I’ve got my tragus done and that’s been there about 7 years and my conch for 4.

It hurt. For about a minute or so and then it didn’t. Feels a bit bruised now but I love
the way it looks.

i love piercings and I’d love more!

Im getting mine done soon and I’m almost 36!
my favourite piercer isn’t doing faces yet though (covid)

Ahhhh yes loving these replies! I feel like I'm definitely going to get it done, I wonder if they're open tomorrow 🙈
I'm just concerned about the gun thing....

If you are in the uk you could search on here
UK App

I can’t advise enough not to go some
where using a gun. It’ll be poor quality jewellery, probably improperly angled and you’ll really damage the surrounding tissue.

Mol1628 · 08/05/2022 06:26

Also if you go to a decent place you can get the most beautiful starter jewellery.

Wednesdayafternoon · 08/05/2022 15:01

Ahh thanks all! I had it done about an hour ago! I love it, it's just very red 🙈 I hope the redness goes down soon 😂

Ooh what jewellery did you pick? Don’t worry the redness shouldn’t last. Mine swelled up after 24 hours but it goes down fast.

Get away with you being too old ☺️ I had my nose pierced for my 40th birthday two years ago. Still love the piercing and had no problems with it healing.

cushioncovers · 08/05/2022 15:25

Whoop whoop well done op. 😁

Wednesdayafternoon · 08/05/2022 18:45

Aww thank you! I've just got a little stud in it! :) really pleased but I'll love it more when I can get a nice dainty stud :)
Just paroniod about the after care 🙈

FabulousKilljoys · 08/05/2022 18:47

Ah brilliant! Salt water to keep it clean for a couple of weeks and all should be well!

PilatesPeach · 08/05/2022 18:50

What side do you get done? Does it matter?

Mol1628 · 08/05/2022 18:58

No it doesn’t matter which side! I’ve got my right side done.

I would get some neilmed piercing aftercare spray for it. Means you don’t have to touch it or faff around making your own salt water.

Wednesdayafternoon · 09/05/2022 20:26

I got the right pierced!
So when it comes to cleaning... do you just clean the outside or how do you clean the inside?
Also what do I do if I need to blow my nose 😅

I love mine, I’ve had it in for about 5 years (I’m late 20s) and tend to have a ring instead of a stud now. I’m a completely fat, non-fashionable, plain mum but I just love it!
It was done with a gun in Claire’s & I did get a ‘bump’ too which went.
I dont think I’ll ever take it out as I can just get a little dainty one if I want to tone it down a bit!

FuzzyPenguin · 09/05/2022 20:39

Came on to say do it! And read you have Yay! I got mine done when I was 39 and love it, it was the thing I was missing off my face and didn’t know.
I have a tiny silver star stud in mine

Wednesdayafternoon · 09/05/2022 20:44

@2ndBorn ahhh when did your bump appear and what did you do to get rid? I'm so paranoid about getting a bump 🙈 can they just appear at any time or normally within first few weeks or something?

Ahh thanks all! Really chuffed it's been done! I kept waking up all night worrying about knocking it though 🙈

2ndBorn · 09/05/2022 20:46

Mine was after a few weeks & I was so paranoid that it would be permanent (like shitting myself as my nose is one of the only things I like about myself 🤣) but it didn’t take long to disappear. Think it was trauma from the gun!

runsmidgeOMG · 09/05/2022 21:16

Have had mine almost a year at 33... I love it. I'm a nurse and the face masks were a perfect cover up for what would normally be a contraband piercing 🤣
I wear the studs with a circular spiral that sits in your nose as I never got on with a ring or the straight pin types (pop out too easily)

It was sore for a few days and the advice was to clean it twice daily with antiseptic for 6-8 weeks which worked for me :)

Mol1628 · 10/05/2022 07:27

I had a bump in mine. It was a nostril screw. When I changed to a flat back labret it slowly went away. They’re the comfiest and best in a nose piercing.

For cleaning I just sprayed a bit of the saline at it up my nose and then a bit on the outside and tried not to touch or move it around at all. Also gently rinsing in the shower helped loosen any crusties.
