I had a lovely Auntie who was renowned for her stories, which she often embellished for comic effect.
She told me that her 11 year old Grandson came home from his new secondary school, waving his English homework, very excited because he'd got an A for it. The essay he'd written was entitled "My Hero", and he'd chosen to write a story she had told him about his uncle, who had recently died, aged 32.
It was all about how her son (the uncle) had been bullied on the bus when HE was eleven, and how she'd got on the bus and given the bully what for. It was a very much embellished story which ended with her throwing the boy in a ditch (not true!)
At the end, the teacher had written . "A very good essay, Robert, well done! PS Bugger has two Gs"
