Venice/Croatia in May

Anyone been? We are off next week but wondering what sort of weather to expect.

We went to both of these in may several years ago (cruise), it was roasting in all the Croatian ports and pouring down in Venice! But not cold, so maybe one of those very light pack away rain jackets.

I've done Venice in May - it was lovely. Sunny, but not too hot. We were able to sit on the beach (Lido).
