Some advise please:

Buying a new build, how do you get your bills set up for electricity/gas, internet etc?

Same as when you buy an old house or rent a place. The house comes already connected to gas and electricity, so you just call the supplier, give readings and transfer the account in your name. After that you're free to change suppliers if you want. Most new builds would have an internet line with a certain provider going to your house already installed, you can just stay with them (call to set up a contract) or just contact a different supplier.
