He said he was going to send pictures and he didn't

My brother was living at home until recently. He went away to live and work abroad.

He rang home to my mom about 2 or 3 times and on all of his calls he said he was going to send me pictures. We are friends on the messagner so it shouldn't be too hard to get pictures. My mom doesn't know how to use a smartphone or anything with technology. He knows that and he said he will send pictures into my phone. Basically 6 weeks since his departure and there wasn't one picture from him.

Why would he say he was going to do it and then turn around and not do it?

Because he’s busy with his new life? Have you asked him again? Sounds like he’s had a big change with this move, he’s probably just distracted - ask him again?

Have you asked him to send you a picture since he’s been away? If so, what did he say?

He's busy and forgets? Why not text and ask him to send some?

What are the pictures of? Him? Scenery? His house?

I occasionally send my family pictures of my children because we live away but not sure what else they'd want to see?

What kind of pics? Landscapes? Local monuments or his accommodation?
are you worried about him? That he’s not where he says he is or is it more you feel sad because he couldn’t be bothered sending them?

He went to live and work abroad with family already settled there. I suppose mom is looking for pictures of him and the reunion of seeing family after the pandemic, scenery pictures of what he got up to over the past few weeks. Things like that.

I’m sure he looks the same as he did 6 weeks ago.

Just ask him again? I would imagine moving abroad is a huge change and maybe he's just caught up in everything and keeps forgetting.

How old are you, OP?

Life gets in the way sometimes.

Maybe he hasn't taken photos yet, maybe it slipped his mind, maybe he can't be arsed.

It really isn't the big deal you're making it out to be.

I say things, and mean them, but then life happens and so forget.
He is just getting used to his new life, new surroundings. Pictures will come in good time.

It's possible that he's finding it hard to adjust and wants to wait until he feels settled and has happy pictures to send. But agree with the others that you can tell him that you all miss him and some pictures would help you to feel close to him.

He’s probably just busy and forgot. What other reason would there be?
