Help! I want to vote but I’m positive for covid.

What do I do? New advice is to stay at home but not a law or even a rule. I think technically I could go but it doesn’t sit well with me. At all. I took the test last night. 38+° fever then but lower now. Feel shitty but it’s a 2 minute walk. I’ve no cough and got a proper pf3 mask.
A proxy would be better but how do I do that when voting’s today? I’m not even sure who I’m voting for either.
I’m in Scotland if that makes a difference.

Wear a mask
Take your own pencil

Try phoning your local election office and see if they'll allow you an emergency proxy. I believe it can be allowed under some circumstances, not sure whether Covid is a valid reason but worth asking! Xx

Same here! On it polling card it does s ay that can nominate a proxy if telephone before 5pm today.

I will do that and nominate my son (although his party of choice is total opposite to mine...)

I think emergency medical proxy might be if you’re in hospital only? I’d give the voting line a ring and ask what to do as you want to vote, can they bring it outside to you or get an emergency proxy? If you’re too ill to walk though stay home and rest

I used to work for electoral services and I second the PP who said contact your local elections office - their number should be on your poll card. IIRC you have to contact them before 5pm (do it asap in case I'm wrong, there's definitely a cut-off!).

I've just got out of hospital following surgery so arranged a proxy vote. My polling card had a phone number for my council to arrange a same day proxy vote, you can do it before 5pm today. Do you have someone who can go vote for you?

DH said he just went through twice, once with my polling slip and once with his.

Hope you feel better soon

Thanks for quick replies. I’ll check my polling card and phone them.

I phoned up my local electoral office and they sent me a form to sign and return before 5pm.

I have nominated my DH to go and vote for me. (as he will x the box I requested ;) )
