Needs to be rather nice as it’s a special occasion. The Ivy has been ruled out.

What is the Daffodil like nowadays?

Moonflower12 · 04/05/2022 19:45

@LordEmsworth
My sister used to work at The Savage Mushroom as it was known in our house!

Gloschick · 04/05/2022 19:45

As above. Also The Mahal is good for Indian fine dining.

PeeAche2 · 04/05/2022 19:46

Used to live in Chelters. Can recommend The Botanist.

Moaningturtle1 · 04/05/2022 19:53

I got engaged at The Daffodil 12 years ago…. So I have a soft spot for the daff.

131 has nice outside seating and I love the restaurant under The Queens, but I can’t remember it’s name, something Blanc?

They have never knowingly savaged a single 'shroom 😆

Moonflower12 · 04/05/2022 19:54

Not posh but really enjoyed Mowgli's in the Brewery quarter

Moonflower12 · 04/05/2022 20:04

😂😂

In our pre-DC days, DH and I would book mini breaks away JUST to go to specific restaurants

Le Champignon Sauvage was bloody gorgeous.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 04/05/2022 20:18

When my ex was being an arse my colleague left his chap at home and took me to the Daffodil to get my perky back again.

Lovely memories and aye, a soft spot for there also. 🌼

BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/05/2022 20:22

Thanks all, I’ll have a look at these.

I love the Savage Mushroom - I was nervous about going because I'd never been to a Michelin starred place before, but the staff were so friendly.

Quornflakegirl · 04/05/2022 20:25

Hands down, Kibou. It’s by far our favourite.

Moaningturtle1 · 04/05/2022 20:45

For drinks The Clarence Social has a bookcase that opens into a secret bar if you find the right book!

MissyB1 · 04/05/2022 21:17

Number 3 owned and run by Phil Vickery.
